December
I
have bought a yacht for 500 pounds, a copy of the brochure is below. It
was flooded with rain water when I bought it and had some delamination
of the ply wood in the cabin. It is a bit mouldy inside, so I syphoned
the water out of the bilge. The next stage shall be to fit a trapoline
over the boat to stop any more water entering. This weekend I shall
also power wash the outside to remove some of the greenery.

Some of the other tasks I shall be doing are:
- Wash one of the sets of sails and make minor repairs--done
- Dry out the cushions--done
- Remove any of the overly rotten wood--done
- Scrap the old varnish and revarnish--done
- Fix the small crack in the rudder and transom--done
- Paint the interior--done
- Refit the rotten parts of the interior--done
- Have a few small holes in the sails stiched up--done
- Shorten the outer shrouds--not done
- Fit the impellor--done
- Build a wind turbine--done
- Wire the notebook, lights, speed and depth guages--done
A wish list of things I would like to buy:
- Flares--got
- Car battery--got two of these
- Charts and accessories--bought about 300 cancelled admiralty charts for 450 pounds.
- Railing and jack line wire for clipping into--used webbing straps for this. Did not aquire any railings
- Solar shower--got
- Satalite phone--not got
- Fire extinguisher--got
- Life raft--not got
- life jacket--got
- Solid fuel blocks--got a gas stove instead.

As can be seen
from the anotations on the list a lot has been done since last year.
Below is a picture of the boat after all the work was completed. I say
all meaning all of the work that I listed, but many other things have
also been mended and improved. I wont be listing further work much since I
have realised that it is never ending.
Below is a picture of the boat before painting.
Here is the finished rudder.
A wind dodger that I made.
Tiller extension.
Engine bracket reinforced with GRP.
Water wheel for the the speedometer.
First attempt at wiring up
The ceilling freshly painted.
